Day 2 - Thorsmork

A long but adventurous day today touring the beautiful Thorsmork, The Valley of Thor (or Þórsmörk in Icelandic). This is a nature reserve in the southern highlands, located between three glaciers; Eyjafjallajökull (the famous glacier volcano that erupted in 2010 and caused widespread disruption to air traffic in Europe), Mýrdalsjökull and Tindfjallajökull. Þórsmörk is a place of diverse and magnificent landscape with its ice capped peaks, jagged mountain ridges and valleys rich with moss and birch woodland. Þórsmörk is a paradise for hikers, photographers and nature lovers. Journey to Þórsmörk in a super jeep, a modified vehicle with huge tires that can forge rivers and tackle just about any terrain. But don't worry, you can hop out of the super jeep and go for a hike to enjoy the spectacular scenery!

An option for later afternoon would be to attend the Lava Show, the only place in the world where you can safely experience hot molten lava in close proximity. The show recreates a volcano eruption, similar to what Eyjafjallajökull and Katla volcano are famous for.
