6 Days in Iceland: Itinerary Inspiration

  • Day 1 - Touchdown in the Land of Fire and Ice

    Welcome to the Land of Fire and Ice! Upon arrival at Keflavik Airport, your private driver will meet you at the airport to take you to the Blue Lagoon. After you have soaked away your travels, your driver will take you to check into your hotel.

    In the evening, leave the lights of the city behind and hunt for the Northern Lights with a small group tour. If the weather does not cooperate to see Northern Lights, the tour can be rescheduled for later in the week.

  • Day 2 - Viking Legends and Culinary Delights

    Start the day "Walking with a Viking," a walking tour which brings the history of Iceland to life with exciting stories and Icelandic folklore. After, explore Reykjavik on your own for a couple hours before meeting with another small group for a 3 hour walking food tour that includes tapas, drinks, traditional Icelandic dishes and desserts. You be will delighted with stories of the Sagas, historical facts on Iceland and more.

    At night, head on another Northern Lights hunting expedition... by boat! Sail away from the coastline of Reykjavik and see the aurora borealis out on the North-Atlantic ocean with beautiful mountains and the city in the background. It is something you won’t forget!

  • Day 3 - Tectonic Marvels to Geysers and Gourmet Delights

    Tour the famous Golden Circle, starting with a stop at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates can be seen separating from each other. Take an easy hike to the beautiful Öxararfoss waterfall, one of the very few human-made waterfalls in Iceland. Visit Efstidalur dairy farm and taste their organic and homemade ice creams. Head to the Geysir geothermal area and witness the geyser Strokkur erupt every five minutes, before moving on to the thundering Gullfoss waterfall, which tops many lists as a powerful and hypnotizing natural phenomenon. Enjoy a delicious lunch stop at Friðheimar Tomato Greenhouse before finishing the day at Kerið crater lake, with pristine waters inside a 3,000-year-old caldera.

  • Day 4 - Waterfalls, Black Sand Beaches, and Icy Expeditions

    If you want to get up close and personal with a glacier and see the most popular spots on the south coast of Iceland, then this small group tour is for you. You’ll see 2 classical Icelandic waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, Witness a beautiful black sand beach, and incredibly powerful waves from the the Atlantic Ocean. There are also amazing basalt columns on the beach and rock formations called “Reynisdrangar” that rise from the the ocean close to the shore. Reynisfjara has often appeared on lists over top 10 most beautiful non-tropical beaches in the world. After that, it’s time to strap on a pair of crampons, grab your ice pick and helmet and hike on the ice, through twists and turns on the glacier of Solheimajokull.

  • Day 5 - Horseback Lava Trails and Sky Lagoon Bliss

    This morning you will be picked up at your hotel for a Lava Tour on horseback. Ride on an Icelandic horse surrounded by amazing nature right outside Reykjavík’s City Center, enjoying beautiful scenery full of lava fields and green hillsides. (Another option would be to hike Fagradalsfjall Volcano or tour the lava tunnel Raufarhólshellir, one of the longest and best-known lava tubes in Iceland.)

    This afternoon, relax at the Sky Lagoon, where the sea meets the sky. While soaking, you can enjoy their seven-step ritual, based on the traditions of Icelandic bathing culture and rooted in wellness, wholeness and wonder.

  • Day 6 - Leisurely Farewell: A Morning of Tranquility Before Departure

    Enjoy your morning before your private transfer picks you up to take you to the airport.
