Days 1-3

Accommodation: Hotel Borg

Welcome to the land of fire and ice! On your first day, pick up your rental car and head to the Blue Lagoon to relax and rejuvenate after your long flight. Enjoy the premium spa experience, followed by lunch at Hotel Lava. Head to your hotel in the afternoon to meet your guide for a Walking Food Tour of Reykjavik. Enjoy Iceland like the locals, without a bus or tour group. Experience the amazing local food, people, history & tradition.

Day 2 begins with breakfast at the hotel followed by leisurely sightseeing. Iceland has its share of unique cuisine, and a fun way to see the city is to join a food tour in the afternoon and then end your evening drinking in the unique culture of the world’s northernmost capital city!

After breakfast on your third day, you will enjoy a self-driving tour along the Golden Circle. Take in the sights, such as Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park, The Great Geysir and Strokkur Geysir Gullfoss Waterfall. You’ll be blown away by some of Iceland’s most stunning natural wonders.

Days 4-6

Accommodation: Umi Hotel

The fourth day begins with breakfast at your hotel. You’ll want to fuel up, because today you will drive to Silfra for a unique snorkeling experience. Immerse yourself in the clearest water in the world, floating between two continents. The snorkeling adventure in the famous Silfra fissure is an unforgettable experience. Head to the Umi Hotel for check-in after this amazing day.

Day 5 begins with another adventure, to the Westman Islands, via car and a ferry. You will meet with your tour group and begin a trek to see sea caves, possibly some puffins, and some of the most stunning scenery.

On the sixth day you’re going to want to make sure your camera (or phone) is fully charged. You’ll be traveling to LandmannaLaugar for a Super Jeep Tour, where amazing scenery, colorful mountains, and hot springs await you.

Day 7

Accommodation: Foss Glacier Lagoon Hotel

The next morning you’ll drive along the spectacular south coast and view highlights along the way. In the afternoon, we’ll arrange for a Glacier Zodiac Boat tour. You’ll get to explore the lagoons most breathtaking icebergs in an adrenaline-pumping small group tour. Get ready to get up close and personal to magnificent blue icebergs. After the tour, you’ll check in at the Foss Glacier Lagoon Hotel.

Days 8-9

Accommodation: Hotel Laxa Iceland

After a leisurely breakfast you can drive to Hofn and walk around this quaint fishing village. Enjoy lunch here before your make your drive to tonight’s accommodations at the Hotel Laxa. Along the way you can stop and check out the East Iceland Heritage Museum.

Day 9 starts with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before heading to Myvatn. Here you can view beautiful scenery, including waterfalls, and also enjoy a soak in the hot springs. We recommend lunch at Vogafjós Farm Resort before heading back to the Laxa Hotel.

Days 10-11

Accommodation: Sigló Hotel

Head to the Siglo Hotel where you can relax and enjoy the day. Downtime is just what the doctor ordered after these adventurous days.

On day 11 you’ll have a full day summer tour of Grimsey Island! Grimsey is the northernmost inhabited point of Iceland and the only part of the country that lies within the Arctic Circle. It’s home to fewer than 100 people but over one million seabirds, including famous puffins and dive-bombing Arctic terns.

Days 12-14

Acccommodation: Hotel Budir

Take the short drive to Hauganes for a whale-watching adventure this morning. Whale watching is as essential a part of any trip to Iceland as is seeing the Northern Lights, Hot Springs, and Glaciers. It’s one of Europe’s premier whale-watching destinations. Afterwards you’ll head to Hotel Budir. It is a bit of a drive, so make sure to take a break to stretch your legs and take in the scenery on your drive.

On day 13 you’ll take in some local sights, including Budir Church, the Bjarnafoss Waterfalls and the Lysuholslaug hot springs and geysers. End your trip with a romantic dinner at Hotel Budir’s restaurant, one of Iceland’s best. Sourcing fresh ingredients directly from local farmers and fishermen, you embark on a culinary journey reflecting what West Iceland has to offer.

After breakfast, head back to the Keflavik airport, where you will return your rental car and fly back to the United States.
