Day 1

Welcome to the land of fire and ice! Pick up your rental car, head to Blue Lagoon, a place where the powers of geothermal seawater create transformational spa journeys. Soak and relax before heading east, for a 2 1/2 hour drive along the South Coast of Iceland. Stops to consider along the way include Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss Waterfall, as well as Skógar Museum.

Day 2

Today you will catch the morning ferry to the Westman Islands. The Islands are a great place to hike, rent bikes and sightsee. Once there, hop on a minibus tour and explore the stunning nature of the island with unique history, friendly locals, vikings and see the biggest Puffin colony in the world. Stay the evening in Westman Islands or head back to the hotel from your first night.

Day 3

Head east, towards Skaftafell, in Vatnajökull National Park, and Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon, about a 3 hour drive. Along the route, visit Reynisfjara, the stunning basalt column fringed black sand beach in Vik. While there, tour Katla Ice Cave! Jump in a Super Jeep, strap on your crampons and step into the mighty glaciers and ice caves of South Iceland. An easy hike out across the Myrdalsjokull glacier, then visit the amazing blue and black ice cave of Kötlujökull glacier on Mt. Katla.

Day 4

Fuel up at breakfast for a glacier hike today! This is a perfect tour if you have never seen a glacier before and you would like to experience these stunning ice giants up close! Explore the beautiful ice formations on the Falljökull outlet glacier, which is a part of Europe’s largest ice cap, Vatnajökull.

Day 5

A visit to Diamond Beach today and a zodiac boat ride in the Ice Lagoon. On the beach, walk amongst the ice diamonds decorating the whole area. While boating, an adventure among sculpture-like icebergs while sailing up to the very secluded glacier wall of Jökulsárlón. After the tour, head to Geysir, via the Golden Circle “route”, about a 4 1/2 hour drive. Along the Golden Circle, witness some of Iceland’s most stunning natural wonders including Strokkur Geysir, Kerid volcanic crater, Skalholt cathedral, and Gullfoss
Waterfall.

Day 6

Today, a snowmobile tour from Gulfoss on the second largest ice cap in Iceland- Langjökull. Visit Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the only place on Earth where you can touch with your both hands the North-American Tectonic plate and Eurasian tectonic plates. Stay in Geysir again tonight.
Alternate activity: Snorkel in Silfra, between the tectonic plates.

Day 7

Head to Reykjavik today for the remainder of your stay. This afternoon, experience a “Walk with a Viking” tour, which brings the history of Iceland to life with exciting stories and Icelandic folklore. Alternate Activity: start the day with a ride on the infamous Icelandic horse – either through Haukadalur forest, with views of the Bjarnafjall mountain and geyser Strokkur erupting from a distance, or ride along the canyon through which the Hvítá river is flowing, likely one of the most breathtaking sights in the area.

Day 8

Explore Reykjavik today. Perhaps check out Perlan, an indoor ice cave and glaciers exploratorium, the first of its kind in the world, as well as the natural history museum and the whale exhibit. This afternoon, a whale watching tour – experience some of Iceland’s rich and thriving bird life, as well as visit our large variety of sea-life, including minke whales, humpback whales, harbour porpoises and white-beaked dolphins among other
whale species.

Day 9

For your last day, connect with Icelandic traditions and relax your mind, body and soul at the Sky Lagoon, experience the 7 step spa ritual.
Additional option: Reykjavik Food Tour – Try truly authentic Icelandic food and get a taste for the culture while you indulge.

Day 10

This morning, enjoy your last breakfast and finish up last minute gift shopping, before heading to the airport to returning your rental car and heading home. Until next time!
