Days 1-2

Accommodation: Hotel Kungstradgarden

Welcome to Sweden! Upon arrival, you will be met by your private car and delivered to your accommodations at the Hotel Kungstradgarden. After getting settled – you will meet your guide for a tour of the Stockholm Archipelago. Meet your boat at 11 am for a 2 1/2 hour cruise to see the best of the Stockholm Archipelago. Your very knowledgeable guide will share all there is to know about the historical, cultural and natural sights you will pass.

That evening, you will meet your guide for an excellent and immersive dinner experience in Stockholm. Start with small tastings of a Modern Nordic kitchen, a Michelin level fish course, wine and a chance to relax and enjoy the mood of Stockholm.

The next morning you will take a most unique tour of Stockholms highlights by wooden bike! The tour will take you to see all the landmarks and famous locations while taking you through intimate and well-hidden bike lanes that only a true Stockholmer knows. After lunch, you will meet your group for a 1 1/2 hour walking tour of Old Town – Gamlastan. We will make some recommendations for dinners in one of Stockholm’s many amazing restaurants.

Days 3-4

Accommodation: Tallberg Garden – Countryside Hotels

After a leisurely breakfast, you will pick up your rental car and head to Falun where you can visit the artist houses of Dalarna and discover Dalarna’s folk art and famous Dala Horses. In the afternoon you will make your way to that night’s accommodations at Tallberg Garden where you can check in and then borrow some bikes to take a short bike ride and see the surroundings before dinner. Work up an appetite because dinner will be at the hotel restaurant which is listed as one of the top 10 Must Eat Restaurants in Europe.

After breakfast at your hotel you can walk through Carl Larsson’s garden just north of Falun in Sundborn, Rättviks Gammelgård or visit Axel Munthes Hildasholm mansion. Return to your hotel in the evening for a haute-swedish dinner in Tallberg Gardens luxe hotel restaurant.

Days 5-6

Accommodation: Domle Herrgard – Countryside Hotels

After a picturesque 3 hour drive in the morning, you will arrive in Karlstad. A great way to stretch your legs might be a bike ride through Karlstad which is free M-F from June through the end of September. Another is to visit the lakeside mansion of poet Gustaf Froding. While there, you will have access to hiking trails and bathing areas on the lake. Your accommodations will be at the Domle Herrgard. Perhaps this is the night to take in a Farjestad BK hockey game.

The sixth day is at your leisure. In the late afternoon you’ll stop by the Drott Bar for a cold drink and appetizers.

Days 7-8

Accommodation: Hotel Eggers

After breakfast you will head south toward Gothenburg. In the afternoon you will meet up with your guide for a 4 hour customized tour of Gothenburg. That night accommodations will be at the Hotel Eggers.

On the second day in Gothenburg you’ll have some options. You can walk through the Gothenburg Botanical Garden, visit the Museum of Art, explore the Historic Haga District or take a boat ride to Nya Alvsborg Fortress. Come night time enjoy Swedish cuisine and some of the best seafood in all of Scandinavia at Sjomagasinet or one of Gothenburg’s other fine restaurants.

Days 9-10

Accommodation: Nordic Light Hotel

Time to head back to Stockholm. You can stop along the way for lunch in Linkoping. When you arrive in Stockholm you will drop off your car and make your way to your accommodations at the Nordic Light Hotel. Enjoy a last dinner at one of Stockholms top rated restaurants.

On the last day you will make your way to the airport to catch your flight home to plan your next trip.
